The renovation project was completed in May of 2021. These cabins are available year-round and have a studio or 1 bedroom option. Cabin Spotlight Pikes Peak State Park in northeast Iowa reopened in July of 2023. There are now larger sites with pull through capabilities at most of the 60 campsites, full hook-up electrical with 50-amp service at six campsites, and standard electric at the remaining sites; along with newly paved roads and parking lots. The campground is 100% reservable and accepts same day reservations. Recently Renovated Campground Iowa’s parks have more than 150 shelters to reserve for gatherings of all sizes. New beach cabanas, like the one pictured can be found at Big Creek State Park and Brushy Creek State Recreation Area. Shelters From campground hosts to friends groups, we love and need our state park volunteers. Consider giving a little of your time to an Iowa state park, and help others enjoy these special places. Volunteer with us! Iowa’s state park lodges are great places for family reunions, birthdays, weddings or business retreats. Many are beautiful stone and timber structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, like the Gull Point Lodge pictured. Capacities and amenities vary by lodge.
